Bahrain :   Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will arrive tomorrow, Sunday 12, on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the Royal Court. During the visit, the Cypriot president will hold talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on bilateral relations binding the two friendly countries, in addition to regional and international developments. In a statement today, the Royal Court welcomed President Anastasiades, and the accompanying delegation, wishing him a good stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Abimael Guzman, the founder of the Peruvian rebel group Shining Path, known as ‘Sendero Luminoso’ in Spanish, died in prison on Saturday, according to the country’s National Penitentiary Institute. He was 86. A Maoist rebel group, Shining Path was active in the 1980s and 1990s, spreading terror in the country through a bombing campaign that targeted buildings and infrastructure such as electricity towers. US : President Biden and first lady Jill Biden made an unannounced stop at the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department after participating in a wreath-laying ceremony at the United 93 memorial. There were some cheers as the President stepped out of the motorcade. The President met with dozens of people at the firehouse, which was set up to serve hot dogs and hamburgers.

UK : Queen Elizabeth II of Britain said Saturday that her prayers were with the survivors and victims on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks. Washington: US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry will travel to India from September 12-14 “to discuss efforts to raise global climate ambition and speed India’s clean energy transition,” the State Department said on Friday. On his visit, Kerry will meet with his counterparts in the Indian government and private sector leaders, the department said in a statement.
