Algiers : Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, today held a telephone conversation with his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saied. Algeria Press Service quoted a statement by the Algerian Presidency of the Republic as saying that President Tebboune expressed “the solidarity of the Algerian people and government with Tunisia in this sensitive stage,” the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
Washington: Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) said on Monday it would buy Canadian drug developer Trillium Therapeutics Inc (TRIL.TO) in a $2.26 billion deal to strengthen its arsenal of blood cancer therapies. Pfizer, which acquired a $25 million stake in Trillium last year, will buy the remaining outstanding shares for $18.50 apiece, representing a 203.8% premium on the stock’s last closing price, Reuters reported. Rabat – Morocco recorded 4,661 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, while 7,641 COVID-19 patients have recovered within the same period of time, the ministry of Health said. The number of people who received the first COVID-19 vaccine dose has reached 17,288,054 while 12,911,722 people are now fully vaccinated (1st and 2nd doses), the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin. Sydney : New South Wales police issued 35,000 Australian dollars (25,000 dollars) in fines to people who attended a Sunday night church service in the heart of Sydney’s Covid-19 outbreak hotspots in violation of health orders.
