Bahrain :  Bahrain condemned the launch by the terrorist Houthi militia of an explosive-laden drone towards the city of Khamis Mushait in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Foreign Ministry said that Houthis’ continued terrorist acts show their insistence to target safe civilians and threaten Saudi security and stability. It commended  the vigilance of the coalition forces to support legitimacy in Yemen, which intercepted and destroyed the drone, reiterated Bahrain’s firm support to  Saudi Arabia in taking all the measures to defend its security, stability and territorial integrity.

BEIJING  :  Flooding in central China continued to cause havoc in both cities and rural areas, with authorities saying Friday that another 21 people had been killed and another four were missing. Floodwaters rose to 3.5 meters (11.4 feet) in Hubei province’s Liulin township following heavy rains that began Wednesday. The latest deaths add to the more than 300 people killed in flooding last month in Henan province just to the north. Orlando : A toddler in Florida fatally shot a woman during a video call after finding an unsecured handgun, police said Thursday. Someone on the work-related Zoom conference called 911 and reported that they had seen a toddler and heard a noise before the woman, Shamaya Lynn, fell backward, police said in a statement. Lynn, 21, was killed Wednesday in Altamonte Springs, near Orlando. “Investigators determined that the injury was caused by a toddler who found a loaded handgun, which was left unsecured by an adult in the apartment,” Altamonte Springs police said in a statement. Some 11 Picasso paintings and works owned by casino and hotel group MGM Resorts in Las Vegas are due to go up for auction in October. The sale include five paintings, some of which were displayed at the Bellagio hotel’s Picasso restaurant, and whose combined worth is estimated at $100m. MGM Resorts says it wants to improve the diversity of its fine art collection. The auction coincides with the 140th anniversary of the artist’s birth. South Korea : Samsung heir Lee Jae-yong has been released from a South Korean prison and is now on parole. He served 207 days in jail – just over half the sentence he received after being convicted of bribery and embezzlement in January. The case involved the country’s former President Park Guen-hye, who is also in jail for bribery and corruption.
