Tokyo : Jamaica’s Hansle Parchment shocked favourite Grant Holloway on Thursday to win the 110 metre hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics, while American Ryan Crouser dominated the men’s shot put and Portugal’s Pedro Pichardo took gold in the men’s triple jump. Parchment came back on the world champion Holloway of the United States at the seventh hurdle to finish in 13.04 seconds. Kuwait : Some 91.1 per cent of the people who died from COVID-19 in July were not vaccinated, Kuwait health ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad has said. The remaining four per cent received one dose, while 4.9 per cent received two doses, he added. Ghana : A proposal to criminalise LGBT+ people in Ghana is “a gross violation” of human rights and could set back a decade of progress fighting HIV/AIDS in the West African nation, according to the United Nations. Bahrain ; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued edict (40) of 2021, specifying the business activities companies with foreign capital can be licensed to participate in.
