Manama : In line with its commitment in supporting national events, Gulf Air Group (GFG) celebrated Bahrain Sports Day with its subsidiaries Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), Gulf Air, and Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) and Airport Police. To mark the occasion and to promote the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, GFG hosted a range of activities at its headquarters, including football, basketball, tug of war, table tennis, and a fitness session.

Two people have died and several were trapped after a massive avalanche hit a popular skiing resort in Himalayan Kashmir on Wednesday. The avalanche struck the Afarwat peak, a more than 4000-metre summit in Gulmarg, Baramulla district, police said. Two foreign nationals died in the avalanche, police confirmed. They were Polish, according to media reports. Videos on social media showed people running and screaming as the avalanche barrelled down the snow-capped mountains.

Manama : Works Ministry said that the maintenance works of expansion joints on the Wali AlAhd Flyover on Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway necessitate closure of the middle and fast lanes. One lane will be provided for traffic movement. The closure will be effective starting from Thursday at 11 pm to Sunday at 5 am.

Manama : The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR), in cooperation with the concerned entities has conducted more than 3,000 inspection visits within the local markets of the governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain during the last year of 2022. The campaigns resulted in reporting 1,700 violations that required the imposition of administrative fines in accordance with the VAT & Excise Law.
