The percentage of the daily COVID-19 tests conducted in Bahrain has ranked among the highest globally in terms of the population.
“The kingdom has conducted coronavirus tests on 707 people per 1000, as part of the precautionary measures taken by the health ministry for combatting the virus.” said Dr. Waleed Al Manea, Undersecretary of the MOH in a press conference held by the National team to combat COVID-19.
Over 6,000 volunteers, including both male and female, will be participating in phase III clinical trial for a COVID-19 inactivated vaccine, Al Manea said.
The potential vaccine will be tested on volunteers who meet the required medical criteria, and the clinical trials are to be conducted by Abu-Dhabi based G42 Healthcare using a vaccine developed by Sinopharm CNBG the world’s sixth largest producer of vaccines in the world.
The inactivated vaccine is pre-qualified by the World Health Organization and volunteers can register through the National Volunteer Platform.
