Bahrain :  A joint workshop was held today between the Kingdom of Bahrain and ASEAN countries, entitled “ASEAN as a Driving Force for Regional Cooperation and Partnerships”.

It was co-chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Director General of the ASEAN Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Usana Berananda, and in the presence of a number of government agencies, ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN countries to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah welcomed Bahrain’s hosting of the workshop, in the context of promoting partnership and sustainability between the Kingdom and ASEAN, noting the distinguished efforts made by the Association to promote security and development at the regional and international levels.

He also explained that the accession of Bahrain to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2019, embodies the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the importance of developing strategic partnerships with the countries of ASEAN.
