Bahrain will continue the suspension of prayers in mosques and mass worship until the COVID-19 cases drop to a certain level as decided by the medical authorities, said the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA).

The Council added that people should continue to rise to the highest levels of responsibility and take the health measures seriously for the sake of their families and their country in order to overcome the pandemic and not to repeat the gatherings that took place on Eid Al Fitr, which led to increasing numbers of infections and deaths.

Eid prayers in Bahrain will be performed at home at 5:31 am on Friday, the Sunni Endowment Department has said.

Mosques will proclaim the traditional Eid takbeers (praise to Allah) from 5:00 until 5:31 am.

Bahrain had shut down mosques as part of the preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus through congregations.

The kingdom has the lowest COVID-19 cases and mortalities among the GCC countries.
