    Bahrain evacuees arrive safely from Sudan

    Manama : A total of 92 Bahraini citizens and residents of other nationalities have been evacuated safely from Sudan, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

    The move is in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

    The evacuees who were stranded in the Republic of Sudan, arrived in Bahrain International Airport, from the City of Jeddah, the Kingrom of Saudi Arabia, said the ministry.

    Bahrain’s General Consulate in Jeddah provided the evacuees with all necessary care and support prior to their departure to the Kingdom of Bahrain this morning.  They were evacuated for the Port Sudan to the City of Jeddah aboard HMS Riyadh.

    Another batch of citizens and residents arrived today in Bahrain from Sudan as part of the evacuation operations undertaken by the United Arab Emirates.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health to receives the evacuees at the Bahrain international Airport and facilitate procedures for them.

    In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on warning parties to halt clashes, avoid escalation and engage in dialogue to reach peaceful solutions that safeguard Sudan’s security and stability.
