Bahrain : The Secretary-General of the Council of Muslim Elders Mohammed Abdulsalam said that the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue to be held under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in November, sends a potent a message of peace to the world against the challenges facing humanity that require working together to confront them.
The “Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence” on November 3-4 will be held in cooperation with the Council of The Muslim Elders, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence.
Abdulsalam commended the great role of Bahrain, under the leadership of HM the King, in promoting the values of dialogue, national unity and coexistence as well religious and cultural diversity that make Bahrain a leading civilized model in peaceful coexistence and in supporting mutual acceptance.
“The eyes of the world will next month be on Bahrain, where the two most prominent religious figures, His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, Shaikh of Al Azhar Al Sharif and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, will meet in the presence of a large number of religious figures and leaders, thinkers and media professionals, to discuss topics related to promoting coexistence and human fraternity,” he said.
This forum is a new and important station in the journey of human fraternity that started in Abu Dhabi on February 4, 2019 with the signing and declaration by Imam El Tayyib and Pope Francis of the Document for Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, the most important document in modern human history, he added.
The Secretary-General pointed out that the forum next month is within Bahrain’s keenness and strategy to build bridges of dialogue between leaders of religions, sects, thought, culture and media.
Coexistence in Bahrain is an old, renewed value in the behavior of its people and the wisdom of its leadership, he added.
Abdulsalam lauded the efforts of Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and its cooperation with the Muslim Council of Elders in promoting peace and human coexistence.
