More than 8,000 Indian residents in Bahrain have registered on the Indian Embassy’s online platform to return to their homeland amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Above 8,000 people have registered on the Indian Embassy’s online platform.” Mr. Norbu Negi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy told to the Starvision News.
The first repatriation flight from Bahrain will reach Kochi on May 8, and the second flight from Bahrain will reach Kozhikode on May 11 with both the flights having approximately 200 passengers.
On May 9, two flights are scheduled to reach Kochi, one from Kuwait and another from Oman.
Only persons shortlisted by embassies on the priority lists are allowed to travel from the Gulf. Pregnant women, Senior citizens with acute health problems, children, and persons with expired visiting visas are given preference.
