The Council of Representatives held today its 29th meeting as part of the second annual session of the fifth legislative term.

Chairing the virtual session, Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal expressed Ramadan greetings, praying to protect Bahrain and HM the King’s leadership and the local people and end the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) soon.

She reiterated parliamentary support to journalists and all public and private sector workers, hailing their strenuous efforts, outstanding role and contribution to national development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

The agenda of the parliamentary session featured a letter from  His Royal Highness, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier regarding a draft law approving the statute of the OIC Labor Centre, in addition to a draft law on ratifying Bahrain’s  accession to the Multilateral Agreement regarding the exchange of reports between the relevant countries

The session discussed the report of the Permanent Standing Committee regarding a draft law promulgating the law of restorative justice for children and, and protecting them from ill-treatment.

The Speaker stressed the importance of the draft which, she said further strengthens national legislation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as part of the comprehensive development process, led by HM the King.
