Berlin : A delegation from the government hospitals, headed by Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, the Chief Executive of the government hospitals, took part in the World Health Summit 2022 which convened in Germany from October 16 to 18 under the theme “Together for a Healthier and More Sustainable Tomorrow”.
The World Health Summit is considered one of the main international health gatherings and focuses, in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO), to commitment to the global public interests, justice in the health field, and taking rigorous multi-party procedures to protect the health worldwide and stimulate scientific development and innovation.
Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari affirmed that Bahrain’s participation in the summit comes within the framework of its keenness on supporting the efforts to protect the health and achieve the sustainable development goals in the health sector.
The World Health Summit, this year, focused on global risks and threats, including climate change, deterioration of the ecosystem, epidemics, natural disasters, conflicts, violence, digital transformation, investment in the health field, challenges to the comprehensive health coverage, guaranteeing the existence of a smarter monitoring system and building strong and resilient health systems.
The Bahraini delegation comprised Director of the Government Hospitals Chief Executive Office Sofia Diri and Dr. Sana Al-Khawaja, the General President of Medical Services for Centers of Excellence in Government Hospitals, and Head of the Accident and Emergency Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
