Bahrain has reported 437 new cases of coronavirus among 182 expatriate workers and 247 contacts of active cases and 8 are travel-related.
1 death was reported in the kingdom, bringing the fatalities toll to 22.
Meanwhile, 743 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported. It is the second-highest recoveries on a daily basis.
The newly registered cases bring the total cases to 13,733 of which 8,471 have recovered making over 61 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5240 active cases.
Also, the are 62 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 11 are in a critical condition.
So far the country has conducted 350,907 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
An increase in coronavirus cases among the Bahrainis was noticed by the MOH in recent days.
“The reasons for the increase in the number of cases among the citizens are due to family and social gatherings during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in a press conference.
