Bahrain registered over 74,000 face mask violations until April 29, according to the Police Directorates in Governorates.
The police directorates highlighted the importance to follow the procedures and instructions of the National Medical Team to fight COVID-19 by changing some social practices during Ramadan, especially with the rapid increase in infected cases.
They also affirmed the importance of individuals to promote national efforts by staying at home, wearing masks and keeping the social distance.
The Interior Ministry’s various directorates also continue with law enforcement campaigns to stop violations of precautionary measures against COVID-19.
The directorates continue to organised awareness campaigns against the spread of COVID-19. They urged the continuation of related precautionary measures.
A total of 9,048 procedures were taken to ensure social distancing. 74,007 violations of not wearing masks in public places were registered, and 9,128 awareness campaigns were conducted until April 29.
In the same period, the General Directorate of Civil Defence carried 262629 disinfection operations of government buildings and roads and conducted training for 1180 individuals in the private sector and 1051 in the public sector.
The number of volunteers since March has reached 6134, in which they were involved in 1647 disinfection operations. A total of 1230 volunteers were trained to disinfect mosques, while 107 disinfection operations were carried out in cooperation with cleaning companies.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the National Ambulance Centre has dealt with 10496 virus-related cases through a specialised team, and the Transportation Directorate have transferred 92331 cases.
