Bahrain registers 37th COVID-19 death

Bahrain has announced the death of a 64-year-old male expatriate, taking the country’s total deaths to 37.

The Ministry of Health expresses its heartfelt condolences to the individual’s family at this difficult time.

The patient, along with all other active COVID-19 cases, had been placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team.

The country has reported 444 new cases of coronavirus, among 291 expatriate workers, 144 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 9 are travel-related, after conducting over 6,000 additional COVID-19 tests.

Meanwhile, 288 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported.

The total cases have driven to 17,713 of which 12,191 have recovered, which means that over 68 percent of the confirmed cases have recovered from the virus. Currently, there are 5,485 active cases.

Also, there are 121 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 12 are in a critical condition.

So far the country has conducted 410,842 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.

Expatriates are having the highest RO (R-Naught) in the country.
