    Bahrain to build scientific research satellite

    Manama: Bahrain has unveiled a plan to build the first artificial satellite  and a mini-earth scientific research module in cooperation with a leading  international specialised powerhouse.University of Bahrain (UoB) President Dr. Riyadh Hamza received National Space Science Agency (NSSA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mohammed Al-Aseeri and discussed partnership to carry out the project jointly.Dr. Hamza said that the university is seeking to launch the project in cooperation with the NSSA, stressing the prositive impact of the scheme on the university, students and local community.

     

    The project will consolidate scientific research among academicians and students and bolster the international standing of the university, create new jobs for graduates and upgrade the scientific research infrastructure at the campus”, he said.He underscored the importance of such projects and partnerships in supporting scientific research, serving the local community and achieving sustainable comprehensive development in accordance with the 2030 Economic Vision.

     

    Dr. Al-Aseeri commended fruitful and constructive cooperation with Bahrain’s largest national university and hailed its qualified competences, stressing its ability to carry out such a project in partnership with the Space Science Agency (NSSA) and a specialised international powerhouse.“This scientific research project will contribute to achieving the main objectives of the NSSA Strategic Plan 2019-2023 and meet Bahrain’s space policy requirements”, he said.
