Bahrain Coast Guard Commander announced on Saturday the arrest of two fishermen for violating the shrimp catching ban.
He said that patrols spotted and followed a boat heading to Al Malkiya beach.
Meanwhile, the land patrol caught a vehicle at the same beach, in which the driver was arrested and eight boxes of shrimps seized.
The maritime patrols confiscated the boat and illegal trawling nets and arrested its captain while trying to escape.
Legal proceedings were taken, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
