Abu Dhabi:  Labour Minister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, led a delegation to the UAE, comprising LMRA CEO, Noof Abdulrahman Jamsheer, and a number of Labour Ministry’s official.

The visit aims to activate the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two brotherly countries in the field of manpower and human resources.

Minister Humaidan held a meeting with the UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Mannan Al-Awar, in the presence of senior Emirati officials.

During the meeting, the two countries’ policies to develop the labour market and human resources were highlighted.

The Labour Minister affirmed the depth of the Bahraini-UAE relations, which are progressing steadily, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the President of the UAE.

He stressed the importance of exchanging information and strengthening bilateral cooperation in labour fields, developing and qualifying human resources for the benefit of citizens in the two brotherly countries.

In this regard, he referred to the initiatives implemented by the Kingdom to accelerate the pace of employment and rehabilitation of citizens and their integration into the private sector through incentives and procedures that enhance the priority of Bahrainis in employment, and mechanisms for implementing unemployment insurance, calling for more cooperation and coordination of stances between the two brotherly countries at various regional, Arab and international events and conferences.

Al-Awar praised Bahrain’s pioneering experience in regulating and developing the labour market, praising the pioneering programmes implemented by the Kingdom in the areas of employment and human resource support through support, motivation and qualification to ensure Bahrainis’ preference for employment, as well as enhancing job stability.

He commended the efforts of the Labour Ministry to care for the rights of the labour force and provide social protection for job seekers and workers by strengthening the unemployment insurance system.

The UAE Minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging experiences among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the fields of the labour market, in particular the development of professional standards currently applied in the two brotherly countries, and working to advance the process of labour market integration in the GCC countries.
