Chief Executive Officer of the National Cyber Security Centre at the Ministry of Interior, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has stressed the advanced level reached by relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, praising the two brotherly countries’ cooperation and coordination, particularly in cyber security.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed made the statements as he participated in the official delegation that had accompanied His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during HRH’s UAE visit today.

During HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, and the Chairman of the UAE’s Cyber Security Council, Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the two countries’ cooperation in the field of cyber security.

Under the MoU, the two countries shall exchange information about cyber security risks and response to information security incidents. They shall also exchange educational and training programmes on information security and awareness.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed indicated that the MoU represents a qualitative addition to cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries in strengthening information security and addressing electronic challenges, which target databases and information systems, noting that it is within the framework of the directives of the Minister of Interior to support the National Cyber Security Centre’s role in promoting awareness, raising the response rate and efficiency in the face of cyber security threats, which will contribute to raising the levels of electronic protection.
