Tokyo : Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, participated the ceremony of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Bahraini-Japanese Business Group for Trade and Investment.
Ahmed Mohamed Al Doseri, Bahrain Ambassador to Japan, and Kansuke Nagaoka, Japan Assistant Minister and Director General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at Foreign Affairs Ministry, signed the MoU.
The establishment of the business group comes in implementation of a MoU on political consultations signed on the sidelines of the official visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to Tokyo on April 11, 2012.
Fakhro affirmed Bahrain-Japan strong ties that resulted from the support of the two leaderships with the aim to further progress and prosperity for both countries.
Al Doseri stressed that the business group aimed at further cooperation in commercial and investment between the two countries, which would contributes to the economic recovery plan.
Ambassador Fatima Abdulla Fares Al Dhaen, Chief of Afro-Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted the strong Bahraini-Japanese ties, citing the two countries’ celebration of golden jubilee of relations last year.
The Business Group aims at creating an environment for economic and investment in all sectors such as, technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), healthcare, small and midsize businesses (SMB).
