Manama : Bahrain and India are committed to bolstering relations and deepening cooperation across all areas, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to India has said.

“The friendship between the two countries is witnessing greater development and growth in all fields as a natural outcome of a historical process of cooperation between the leaderships and governments of the two countries,” Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Qaoud said.

The two countries also look forward to moving ahead in consolidating their relations in line with the aspirations of the two countries and their friendly peoples, he added.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is keen to develop Bahraini-Indian relations at various levels,” Ambassador Al Qaoud said.

“This matter is clearly reflected in the mutual visits between the leadership of the two countries to discuss and review matters of common interest,” he said in a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on India’s Republic Day.

Coordination between the governments of the two countries is witnessing steady growth, and Bahrain’s government working under the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is keen on continuing the successful partnership and constructive cooperation between institutions in the two countries in various sectors, he added.

“The commitment to wider and closer relations includes international cooperation, culture, economy, development and other vital sectors that have resulted in the signing of memoranda of understanding and bilateral agreements to ensure outstanding achievements,” Al Qaoud said.

Diplomatic relations between Bahrain and India extend for more than five decades, and in October 2021, they celebrated the golden jubilee of diplomatic ties, the ambassador noted.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain contributes to the consolidation of relations between the two friendly countries by activating strategic partnerships and enhancing an active diplomatic presence in various official occasions and events of national importance to the friendly Republic of India,” he said.
