Upon an invitation from the German Federal Foreign Office, a Bahraini youth delegation participated in a Trilateral Encounter alongside with Germany and Israel.
The meeting aimed at promoting peace in the region by building bridges of understanding between all delegations.
The program provided an opportunity for the youth delegations to exchange their diverse experiences in politics, sustainability, economy, media, and history and to enhance awareness by learning more about shared values, common passions, mutual aspirations, roadblocks, gaps, myths and truths.
It also contributed to the development of the participants’ cultural knowledge.
The program promoted the values of peaceful coexistence, which His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa regularly emphasizes in his speeches that urge respect for religions and tolerance.
The agenda included a visit to the presidential palace in the capital, Berlin, and meeting with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier who stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and opinions among the youth of the three countries, because of their impact on developing cooperation, consolidating peace in the region in particular, and the world in general.
It also included several workshops and meetings with officials on many topics, including sustainability and vision of an urban environment, which focuses on using various vital systems in various fields to ensure their continuity.
In this context, the delegation visited the famous “Holzmarkt 25”, built entirely of remanufactured and recycled wood and materials.
The delegations also visited Tempelhof airport’s main building in Berlin that is used as a park serving the area.
The participants exchanged the latest ideas in digital transformation that is transforming the world in most areas, including health, education and industry.
The delegations participated in a panel discussion entitled “The Age of Flow” held at the headquarters of the German Federal Foreign Office. The session tackled the capability of youth in decision-making through art as a sublime message.
The role of women in Bahrain, Israel, and Germany was reviewed, and it was remarkable that the number of female members in the Bahraini delegation outnumbered the number of females from all other delegations.
It was a vivid message of the support and empowerment given by the Kingdom to women in various fields, and showed that Bahraini women have a real role in representing Bahrain in global forums, and that they enjoy their full rights and freedoms guaranteed in the constitution under the support and patronage of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King.
The participation of the Bahraini youth in this program is a reflection of the Kingdom’s international standing as a special and advanced model in religious freedoms in the Middle East, with its openness that provides an adequate setting for peaceful coexistence, tolerance, dialogue among religions, civilizations and different cultures, and cooperation among all countries on the basis of partnership, friendship and mutual respect.
There is no doubt that this kind of direct cultural and intellectual exchange, compared to communicating via virtual platforms, supports the consolidation of peace in the region, accelerates its achievement, and elevates the role of young people around the world to be future leaders.
