Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa has launched a campaign aims at enhancing public awareness as the country continues to grapple with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Themed “Because You Are Important”, the drive is in support of the Team Bahrain’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to combat the pandemic and protect psychological and economic stability in Bahrain.

The Governor gave the go-ahead for the campaign remotely, in the presence of the Bahrain Islamic Bank (BiB) Chief Executive Officer Hassan Jarrar and other experts in addition to the organisers.

He stressed the importance of protecting citizens and residents’ psychological safety and empowering them to deal with crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, which has a heavy toll on societies and peoples worldwide.

He underlined the need to harness all efforts to prepare for the post-COVID-19, hailing the efforts of people in charge of the campaign which seeks to achieve noble humanitarian goals.
