Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan has received a US Congress delegation. Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs, Brigadier Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organisation, Col. Mohammed Al-Haram, attended.
He welcomed the guests, highlighting the importance of such visits and meetings in reinforcing ties between the two friendly countries.
The Chief briefed the US officials on the Interior Ministry efforts to promote security and safety. He also highlighted the directives of His Excellency the Interior Minister to protect security and stability through training, hi-tech equipment and experiences of developed countries.
The Cheif informed the delegation of the development of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre programmes to provide the best services for inmates as part of the reinforcement of human rights principles. He also highlighted efforts to implement the alternative penalties law and the Interior Ministry’s human rights training courses and curricula. In addition, the two sides discussed security cooperation and coordination, reinforcement of bilateral ties and topics of common interest.
