    China nagpadala ng 27 barko sa West Philippine Sea

    Hindi bababa sa 27 barko ang ipinadala ng China sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) na isang “major maritime militia rotation”, ayon sa isang maritime security expert.

    Ipinadala ang nasa 27 barko ilang araw matapos magkasundo ang Pilipinas at China na bawasan ang tensyon sa rehiyon sa pamamagitan ng diplomasya.

    Napaulat na sinabi ni retired United States Air Force Col. Raymond Po­well na ang kaganapan ay isang rotation ng mga militia ships.

    “I think it’s a rotation so other [Chinese] militia ships who’ve been on station for a while will head home once they’re had a little overlap,” ani Powell sa ulat.

    Nauna rito, nag-convene ang Manila at Beijing sa kanilang ika-8 Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) meeting sa Shanghai at pumayag na pahupain ang tensyon.

    Ayon sa Chinese fo­reign ministry, nagkasundo ang magkabilang panig “na ang pagpapanatili ng komunikasyon at diyalogo ay mahalaga sa pagpapanatili ng maritime na kapayapaan at katatagan.”

    ?Kamakailan ay pinuna ng China ang Pilipinas matapos na batiin ni Pa­ngulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang president-elect ng Taiwan na si Lai Ching-te.
