    Coronavirus: 71 news cases, 1 death in Bahrain

    71 new active cases have been registered in Bahrain, of which 48 are expatriate workers, 16 are contacts of active cases and 7 are travel-related.

    The 48 new active cases among expatriate workers were detected following the conclusion of 3,510 COVID-19 tests during the past 24 hours. This is in conjunction with an ongoing campaign to test workers at their residence.

    Bahrain has recovered 52 people today.

    The Ministry of Health said “Early detection of COVID-19 cases among expatriate workers and quarantining contacts of new cases expedite treatment and strengthens precautionary measures set out to safeguard the well-being of citizens and residents.”

    Bahrain tested a total of 100031 until now. There are 1008 active cases. These include 1007 stable cases and 1 critical case. 1082 people have been discharged. Only 8 deaths have been reported until now. This takes the total cases in Bahrain to 2098.

    Bahrain has announced the death of a 36-year-old expatriate male, a registered active case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) suffering from underlying and chronic health problems.

    The deceased male had been placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team.
