Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has confirmed that the death rate with the Coronavirus in Saudi Arabia is very low.
‘‘You have noticed an increase in the infection cases recorded in the past two weeks, which exceeded 1,000 cases per day, as a result of the expanded test being conducted by health teams in all regions of Saudi Arabia.
Despite this increasing infection number, we announce that the death rate in Saudi Arabia is very low, as the global death rate is 7 percent, while the death rate is less than 0.7 percent in Saudi Arabia.
This is due to two main reasons; the availability of an accurate treatment protocol developed by the Saudi Health Ministry, and the result of the extensive tests and active screening through which we track cases, and reach them before they are spreading the virus and before cases get worse, and this resulted in a speedy finding out and providing treatment of cases.’’ Al-Rabiah said, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Saudi Arabia currently has 200 deaths due to COVID-19 and over 30,251 total confirmed cases.
