Manama : President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the success of Jewellery Arabia 2022.

The 30th edition of the event was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre from November 22 to 26.

The Customs President expressed appreciation for the support provided by the wise leadership to promote prosperity, security and economic growth. He lauded the directives of the Interior Minister to utilise all capabilities and provide all services to contribute to the success of the international event.

He revealed statistics about the event that was held with the participation of 27 countries and 377 exhibitors. He said that the exhibition had registered the highest sales records compared with its previous editions. The value of exhibited local products was BD 888 million, compared with BD 510 million last year, marking a 74% increase.

The value of imported products was BD 24 million, compared with BD 20 million last year, marking an increase of 17.6%. The increase is by 75% compared to 2019 and 98% compared to 2018.

He attributed the increase to the excellent reputation of the event in the region and the confidence of the exhibitors. He said that the Customs teams of 80 customs officers worked round the clock to receive the exhibitors and secure products at the Bahrain International Airport and the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
