    Durian ng Pinas planong dalhin sa New Zealand

    Umaasa si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na mabibili na rin sa merkado sa New Zealand ang Durian.

    Ito ay matapos magkaroon ng bilateral meeting si Pangulong Marcos kay New Zealand Prime Mi­nister Christopher Luxon sa sidelines ng 44th at 45th ASEAN Summit Related Summits sa Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

    “We are talking about right now (with) our appropriate ministries. Ours is the Department of Agriculture for the Philippines and the Ministry for Primary Industries in New Zealand. [They]  are already in discussion on how to achieve this [durian export],” ayon pa sa Pangulo.

    Sinabi naman ni Luxon na hindi lang ang kalakalan sa prutas ang kanilang pinag-usapan ni Pangulong Marcos kundi maging ang usapin sa security, trade at economy.

    “I think on the economic front, we’ve talked about onions and pineapples. Pineapples are coming to New Zealand, onions [are] going to the Philippines, I hope. So, I think we’ve made some good progress there,” sinabi pa ni Luxon.

    Matatandaan na nauna nang hiniling ng New Zealand na magkaroon ng access sa sibuyas ng Pilipinas.

    Tinalakay din ng dalawang lider ang bilateral agreements sa defense and military, environment, labor, air services, law enforcement para labanan ang transnational crimes, pati na ang work holiday scheme.

    Sakop din ng agreements ang science and technology, geothermal cooperation, avoidance of double taxation, trade, at postal matters.
