Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak received the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNPD) in Bahrain, Firas Gharaibeh.
The meeting reviewed plans and projects for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The two sides discussed the existing cooperation with the UNPD in what has been achieved and the positive dimensions and outputs that were represented in multiple achievements in the field of renewable energy, based on the interest and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
They highlighted the government’s interest in the diversification and sustainability of energy resources, and to raise Bahrain’s status in this field among the countries that are making significant qualitative efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
The minister praised the tireless efforts of the UNDP and its keenness to support Bahrain’s goals and efforts in the global lead for the transition to renewable energy.
The representative praised Bahrain’s efforts and the ministry’s important role to achieve energy sustainability goals.
