Bahrain : Public Health Consultant, Dr. Kawther Al-Eid, called on all eligible people who have received three shots of the COVID-19 Sinopharm vaccine and meet the conditions of the second booster dose to take it. She underlined the importance of doing that to boost immunity, prevent infection, confront the virus mutants and prevent severe symptoms in case of an infection.

Dr. Al-Eid pointed out that the second booster dose is provided to those who have received three doses of the anti-viral Sinopharm vaccine of the age group 18 years and above. The shot can be taken three months after the first booster dose. She explained that those who are eligible can choose between Pfizer-BioNTech or Sinopharm as a second booster dose.

Dr. Al-Eid called on eligible people to go to health centres without the need to book an appointment to take the second booster dose to protect themselves and the community. She pointed out Bahrain’s continuous efforts to curtail the spread of the virus and its variants. She stressed the need to continue complying with the preventative measures to help fight the pandemic.
