Manama : Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) CEO Dr. Nasser Qaedi expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his royal patronage of the inauguration ceremony of the Kingdom’s Exhibition World Bahrain in the Sakhir area, as well as to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the new exhibition’s opening.
The Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir will strengthen Bahrain’s position as a regional pioneer in the MICE industry, hosting the largest regional and international expos and conventions as one of the largest and newest exhibition centers in the Middle East Region, Qaedi said.
It will also contribute to achieving the goals of the tourism strategy 2022–2026 within the Economic Recovery Plan.
Dr. Qaedi pointed out that the new Exhibition World Bahrain will add significant value to the investment ecosystem in the Kingdom and maximize the contribution of the tourism sector in the national economy.
This will have a tangible impact on revitalizing business tourism, aside from its distinct design as a one-of-a-kind architectural structure inspired by Bahrain’s long history, he added.
“The Exhibition World Bahrain reflects Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing the Kingdom’s position as an internationally prominent business tourism destination. We are looking forward to an eventful season filled with large functions from various industries that will be held under one roof at the completely new exhibition center “he said.
The inauguration of the center coincides with the launch of three major annual exhibitions.
They are Jewellery Arabia 2022, the largest jewellery exhibition in the Middle East; the Arabian Perfumes Exhibition, which is held for the first time in Bahrain; and Cityscape’s Exhibition, which is also one of the largest real estate events in the Middle East.
The exhibition has a total area of 308,700 square meters to accommodate various types of events. It consists of ten exhibition halls with varying ceiling heights and a total area of 95,000 square meters, each with its own technical services and storage space, as well as independent exits and entrances.
All these characteristics make the center the best choice for hosting multiple recurring events and exhibitions at the same time, especially since the space of the exhibition halls at the Bahrain World Center exceeds the capacity of the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center in the Manama area by six times.
