Bahrain : A ceremony was held today to launch a book titled “Behavioral economics between knowledge and application” authored by Dr. Khulood Al Qattan.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa patronized the book launch, stressing the importance of such publications which foster knowledge and enrich national library in the economic field.
He lauded the role researchers who contributed through their books and studies to achieving the goals of national development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prince.
He lauded the efforts of the writer, stressing the importance of the book which constitutes an important reference for researchers and scholars in the field of economics.
He underscored the importance of behavioral economics as a global trend that is still growing continuously in many countries and its impact on the behavioral dimension of societies.
Dr. Al Qattan thanked the minister for patronizing the launch ceremony, pointing out that the book includes a theoretical part focusing on the the definition of behavioral economics and its relationship to other sciences such as psychology while the practical part highlights a number of experiences of countries that have established units for behavioral insights, most notably the United Kingdom.
Mena Centre for Investment Chairman Dr. Zakariya Hijris also addressed the event, which featured a discussion session moderated by Dr. Ali Al Moulani, chair of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society.
