Bahrain : Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received World Bank (WB) Executive Director Dr. Mirza Hassan.

He hailed the role of the World Bank in supporting countries to mitigate the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID), urging international cooperation to tackle the fallout of the pandemic.

He lauded the bank’s crucial role in support sustainable development programmes worldwide and backing countries to consolidate financial stability and spur growth.

He said that Bahrain is on the right track to achieve economic recovery, highlighting the Government’s efforts to protect society from health pitfalls by launching the BD4.5 billion stimulus package to support the hardest-hit sectors and protect citizens’ jobs through the fiscal balance programme.
