    First BBS art exhibition opened

    Manama : Under the patronage of Chairman of the National Council for Arts, Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the council’s member Shaikha Dhowa bint Khalid Al Khalifa opened today the first art exhibition of Bahrain Businesswomen Society (BBS) which featured a distinguished collection of artworks carried out by 13 members of the society.

    Sponsored by Naseej Company, the one-week exhibition is being held at Safeya Ali Kanoo Hub for Arts and Handicrafts. Marking the occasion, First Deputy Chairperson of Bahrain Businesswomen Society, Dr. Shaikha Eshaa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed the society’s interest in the cultural and artistic activities aimed at highlighting the distinguished talents of its members and promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain as a cultural and artistic destination.

    Bahrain Businesswomen Society board member and Head of the Cultural and Economic Committee, Manar Sariya, said that the exhibition, themed “Intilaq” (Start-off), was the first of the committee’s activities, as indicated by the name.

    She added that the first edition of the exhibition comprises 13 artists, who are members of the society, displaying a collection of different artworks. She also noted that the exhibition will be open daily from 9 a.m to 9 p.m.
