The Food Wealth Committee of Bahrain Chamber headed by Khalid Al Amin has recently held a remote meeting with a number of food retailers and representatives of supermarkets and hypermarkets to deliberate about the preparations and readiness for the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting discussed the availability of food products to meet the demand during the holy month and the importance of holding prices. Al Amin also called food retailers, hypermarkets, and supermarkets to sign a document pledging not to raise prices during the holy month.
He said that signing the document is voluntary, and the committee has been keen on sustaining this practice annually to encourage food retailers to hold prices during the holy month. He added that the document will be circulated electronically to food retailers.
Al Amin commended food dealers in Bahrain for their cooperation with the chamber and joining efforts to ensure the stability and vigor of the local market, and concluded by reassuring the people of Bahrain of the availability of poultry, meat, and all food products and wishing everyone a very blessed Ramadan.
