Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, inaugurates the expansion project of the Emergency Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC).
This came within the framework of the ministry’s plan to preserve the highest safety standards for emergency or suspected coronavirus infection cases.
The project consists two sections; each with the capacity of 50 beds that are prepared with all the needed medical care equipment. (zone A) for emergency cases and (zone B) for suspected coronavirus infection cases. It also has 14 beds for dialysis patients, 6 beds in intensive care zone with an ambulance entrance for urgent cases.
The project costed BD 120,000 as the building was equipped with modern medical devices such as radiology devices, ventilators, electronic pressure gauges, vital signs monitoring devices, health information system and communications devices to ensure greater comfort for patients, improve the service level and meet the highest standards for isolation measures for infectious diseases patients.
