Bahrain : Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary-General, Higher Education Council Board of Trustees Deputy Chairman, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin isa Al-Khalifa, hailing royal care fire for higher education.

She also praised the keen interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which stems from a firm belief in the pivotal role of education in supporting sustainable development and spearheading knowledge-based societies and economies.

Dr. Shaikha Rana hailed the results of the 2021/2022 Human Development Report, which is published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.

The Kingdom of Bahrain ranked fourth globally in the variable of researchers in higher education in the Global Knowledge Index for the year 2021, which measures the knowledge reality at the world level as a comprehensive concept closely related to sustainable development and the various dimensions of contemporary human life.

“These results are only one of the fruits of the National Strategic Plan for Scientific Research 2014-2024, which the HEC seeks to achieve in order to promote scientific research of importance to the economy and enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness.
