Bahrain : Amid challenging pandemic situations in the world, Bahrain witnessed a unique Onam celebration.
The world is in a lot of crisis due to the pandemic, but Bahrain’s ruling family never forget to express their respect, love and harmonious feelings towards Bahrain Malayalees.
HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the son-in-law of Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is also a world-renowned athlete celebrated Kerala’s significant festival Onam with his staff.
Although he had celebrated Onam with his staff in the past, the Onam celebrations were more extensive this year.
HH Shaikh Nasser inaugurated the Onam event in an auditorium specially adorned for the Onam festival.
The staff welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser Al Khalifa traditionally with Thalappoli, Chendamela and other traditional art forms. Keralite staff of Highness’s palace briefed about the Kerala art forms to His Highness.
Mrs. Sheena Chandradas performed Mohiniyattam, there was Margamkali, a Christian dance form. Oppana, an art program of the Muslim community in Kerala was also performed by other artists from Kerala, program concluded with a famous art form of Kerala Thiruvathirakali.
HH Shaikh Nasser watched these Keralite art shows with great enthusiasm.
HH Shaikh Nasser participated in a delicious assortment of traditional food Onam Sadya and photo session with his staff and also watched a documentary on Onam.
His Highness said he is lucky to have these staff as a support to him. This gesture of His Highness is evidence that amid the pandemic situation in the region and the world, peaceful religious coexistence stood out as a major feature of Bahrain.
Bahrain is an Islamic country but all religions here have their freedom of worship which demonstrates unity in diversity in the kingdom and which made Bahrain a very popular country among expats.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is showing a beautiful and egalitarian rule similar to that of Mahabali. This is the reason Bahrain is becoming a stepmother for expats.
