Manama: The American University in Bahrain (AUBH) held its 3rd annual President’s Race under the theme #OneTeamOneRun, featuring 200 participants. This came under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

Dr. Suzan Saxton, Founding President of AUBH and Dr. Shaikh Sager bin Salman Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Schools & Collegiate Athletics Association, highlighted the University’s ethos of a “Sound Mind, Sound Body” and emphasized that the AUBH Community is vested in each student’s unique journey. HH Shaikh Khalid toured the sports center of the university, where he expressed admiration for its modern equipment.

“We are pleased that the AUBH has organized this annual sports event, which reflects the University’s keenness to emphasize the importance of sports in the lives of individuals, especially male and female students. Sports play an important role in improving academic achievement and maintaining mental health, removing pressures and helping to acquire leadership skills. They give the opportunity to compete and maintain a sound body. Sports represent a lifestyle and they key for health, happiness and optimism in everybody’s life,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
