Bahrain : HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee has received at his office Dr Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza, Sustainable Energy (SEA) Chairman and Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA).
The meeting was attended by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed the attendees, conveying to them the greetings of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain and HM the King’s best wishes for their organisations.
He discussed with Dr Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza and Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa their plans to support the sports agencies through the implementation of the development plans that contribute to backing the sports system and transform it into professionalisation in order to accomplish more achievements and allow sports to play a key role in backing the national economy.
He instructed Dr Abdulhussain Ali Mirza to carry out further studies to use alternative energy in sports facilities and harness it towards serving the sports sector in Bahrain.
He also instructed the CEO of EWA to conduct studies to reduce electricity and water bills for sports parties to help in developing the sports field.
