    Higit 75K Pinoy, tumigil sa paninigarilyo

    Mahigit 75,000 Pinoy na ang huminto sa paninigarilyo nang ilunsad ng PMFTC, Inc. ang IQOS, nangungunang heated tobacco product sa loob lamang ng tatlong taon.

    Noong Hunyo, 2020 nang ipakilala sa publiko ng PMFTC, local affiliate ng Philip Morris International Inc. ang IQOS sa Kalakhang Maynila at ngayon ay laganap na ito.

    Batay sa ulat, nasa 75,000 Filipino adult smokers na ang gumagamit ng IQOS at 18.5 million smokers mula sa 70 countries ang bumitiw sa sigarilyo at gumamit na lamang ng mas mainam na alternatibong produkto gaya ng paggamit ng IQOS.

    Ang IQOS devices ay ginagamitan ng HeatControl Technology na kung saan hindi sinusunog ang “tobacco-filled sticks” na nakabalot sa papel na tinatawag na HEETS upang ma-release ang water-based aerosol kaya’t wala itong usok at wala ring abo hindi tulad ng sigarilyo.

    At dahil sa tinanggap ng publiko ang IQOS, muling naglunsad ang PMFTC ng mas abot-kayang halaga na device na tinatawag na BONDS by IQOS noong Nob­yembre ng nakaraang taon.

    “We remain steadfast on our vision to deliver a smoke-free Pilipinas. We are optimistic that more adult smokers will quit cigarettes as we continue to innovate and expand our presence in the country,” ayon kay Dave Gomez, PMFTCs communication director.
