Ang pelikulang ito ay historical-romance drama na ang setting ay taong 1521, panahon ng mga katutubo bago ang kolonyalismo ng mga Espanyol sa Pilipinas. Iikot ang istorya sa pag-iibigan ng karakter ni Bea na isang native princess, sa translator ni Ferdinand Magellan, ang nakatuklas ng Pilipinas.
Ang naturang pelikula ay nasa wikang Ingles, bagay na pinuna ng mga netizen, dahil sana raw, ginamit na lamang ang katutubong wika sa Pilipinas, at naglagay na lamang ng subtles.
