Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Royal Decree (2) of 2023, forming the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council (HEC) for a renewable four-year period, based on the proposal of the Prime Minister, and following the approval of the Cabinet.
According to the decree, the HEC Board of Trustees shall be chaired by the Minister of Education, and comprise the following members:
1- HEC Secretary-General (Deputy Chairperson)
2- Chief Executive Officer of the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA)
3- Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board (EDB)
4- Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen)
5- Chief Executive Officer of the Education and Training Authority (BQA)
6- Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Registration and Companies at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce
7- Director-General of Organisation and Position Budget at the Civil Service Bureau (CSB)
8- Arabian Gulf University President
9- Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)
The Prime Minister and minister, each in their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
