    HM the King of Bahrain Instructed To Comprehensively Settle the Debt Problems

     The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports announced the orders of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain to find suitable solutions to solve the pending issues related to the financial entitlements of all the sportspeople and the administrators as well as the clubs’ debts.
    This came during the first meeting of the newly formed Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, held under the chairmanship of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and in the presence of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa,  First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and HE Mr Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs as well as the new members.
    On the outset of the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed his utmost appreciation and gratitude to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the issuance of the Royal decree to form the new council, saying: “In my own name and on behalf of all the members, I take this opportunity to escalate our highest appreciation and gratitude to HM the King for his confidence in us to continue our contributions towards building this country under the leadership of HM the King as we look forward to adding to the unique achievements accomplished across various sectors,”
    “In extension to HM the King’s speech during the launch of the new legislative and executive term and the initiatives launched in 2018 to introduce +The Year of Gold+, the Bahraini sports will be titled +The Golden Age+ in order to achieve further accomplishments,” HH Shaikh Nasser said. Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser welcomed Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies the new members of the council, extending his thanks to the old members and wishing them the best of luck.
     
    Extending HM the King’s Regards
    Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser extended HM the King’s regards and gratitude to the new members, pointing out that HM’s confidence would contribute towards developing the youth and sports fields.  After HH Shaikh Nasser’s remarks, the council discussed the followings:
    Faisal bin Rashid Selected as President of the Coordination, Implementation and Follow-Up Committee
    The members of the council welcomed the recommendation of HH Shaikh Nasser to name HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa as the President of the Coordination, Implementation and Follow-Up Committee.
     
    The Entitlements Issue
    As per the instructions of HM the King, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa ordered HE  the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs to solve the entitlements of sportspeople, the administrators and the technical staff as well as the clubs’ debts. HH instructed HE the Minister to protect their rights, describing them as an important asset of Bahrain’s wealth.
     
    Sports Fund “Tumooh”
    Meanwhile, the Council recommended the creation of a new sports fund by a decree in order to manage the investment of the sports assets in Bahrain and increase their revenues to support the sports movement and sustain it to secure its future. HH Shaikh Nasser instructed to name the new fund as “Tumooh Fund”.
     
    Activating the Supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports
    The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports activated the role of supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the clubs, federations and the Olympic Committee under decree No. 21 of 1989 so as not to interfere with the Olympic Charter and international regulations.
    Senior Citizens instead of Elders 
    HH Shaikh Nasser instructed the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to rename elders in Bahrain to “Senior Citizens”.
    Activating Club Rights
    The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports activated the rights of clubs in their membership in sports federations after licensing the sports activity specified by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs.
    Four main activities were approved for registration at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. They include the sports team, the stadium management activity, the activity of the management of youth complexes and the activity of the management of sports complexes.
    Coordination with the Ministry of Education
    HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed for coordinating with the Ministry of Education on studying the possibility of using their sports facilities and assigning the Ministry to find an official mechanism for the use of these facilities.
