    HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

    Bahrain : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting, at Gudaibiya Palace.

    The Cabinet commended the decision of the United Nations Human Rights Council in regard to the Republic of Yemen, hoping that it will support steps aimed to stabilise Yemen.

    The Cabinet then welcomed the decision of the European Union to add the Kingdom of Bahrain to the list of epidemiologically safe non-EU countries, stressing that this reflects the Kingdom’s outstanding national efforts to combat COVID-19.

    The Cabinet expressed its condolences to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the victims of the earthquake that struck Balochistan.

    The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting with the following outcomes:

    The approval of the following memorandums:

    1. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an MoU on further strengthening cooperation between GCC ministries and entities related to endowments and Islamic affairs.

    2. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding draft framework for cooperation on the exchange of financial sector cybersecurity information among GCC central banks. The framework aims to support efforts to enhance cybersecurity and maintain the integrity of the GCC’s financial and banking sector.

    3. A memorandum by the Minister of Health regarding the development of evaluation and accreditation procedures for public and private hospitals and health centres, which aims to ensure compliance with the approved regulations and standards for services provided to patients. The memorandum contributes to raising the quality and efficiency of the Kingdom’s health services. The national accreditation will contribute to the establishment of a continuous, open and constructive partnership between the National Health Regulatory Authority and health institutions.

    4. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to a proposal for a law submitted by the Council of Representatives and a proposal for a law submitted by the Shura Council.

    The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:

    1. A memorandum by the Minister of Shura Council and Council of Representatives Affairs regarding decree laws and draft laws submitted by the government, which are under study by the Legislative Authority during the fourth regular annual session of the fifth legislative term.

    The Cabinet took note of the ministerial reports, including the outcomes of: the participation in the 65th regular session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency; the visit of Libya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to Bahrain; and international cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Libya.
