Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the chairman of the Muharraq Sports Club, HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, members of the board, football team players, as well as the club’s technical and administrative staff at Riffa Palace.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that the Muharraq Club’s victory reflects Bahrain’s spirit of determination and competition. His Royal Highness noted that the achievements made in the sports sector, on the regional and global level, are a product of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated the Muharraq Sports Club for their honourable achievement in winning the Asian Cup for the second time. His Royal Highness commended the sports skills of the players, which is of an international standard, as confirmed by their recent success.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad noted that this great achievement would not have been possible without the concerted efforts and determination of the Muharraq Sports Club’s technical and administrative staff as well as the players.
The result of these combined efforts was a remarkable victory, that has enhanced the distinguished record of the Muharraq Sports Club and Bahrain’s record of achievements.
His Royal Highness expressed his thanks to the players of the Muharraq Sports Club and to the Bahraini fans who supported the club all the way to its victory, and wished the club further success in future competitions.
His Royal Highness also commended the efforts of the representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in developing Bahraini sports sector and providing the support required to further achievement.
For his part, HE Shaikh Ahamed on behalf of all the members of the club, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for HRH’s support to the sports sector which has led to this achievement.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
