Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received Elissar Farah Antonios, Citi Head of MENA Cluster & CEO Citi UAE, and Michel Sawaya, Citi Country Officer and Corporate Banking Head – Citi Bahrain, at Gudaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of further strengthening the role of the Kingdom’s banking and finance sector, one of the key economic sectors that supports growth and attracts investment. His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing facilities that improve business opportunities and investments in line with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness welcomed Mrs Antonios to the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the Kingdom’s long-standing partnership with Citibank. His Royal Highness wished Citibank’s new Global Technology Hub, launched in cooperation with Tamkeen and the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), success in achieving its goals, including providing quality opportunities in the banking and technology sectors.
For her part, Mrs Antonio expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and noted HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s support of the Kingdom’s enduring partnership with Citibank. The Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, HE Khalid Humaidan, also attended the meeting.
