Bahrain : The Weekly Majlis hosted by the Capital Governorate hailed the new package of labour market reforms which wereordered by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to increase protections for expatriate workers and  build on Bahrain’s Tier-1 Status in US State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Report.

This came as Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa received, in the presence of Deputy Governor Hassan Abdulla Al Madani and other officials, dignitaries and citizens.

Under HRH the Crown Prince and Minister’s order, new labour registration centres and an online registration portal will increase ease of worker registration in addition to LMRA representation for any disputes between employee and employer, among other reforms.

The attendees praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visit to the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) headquarters which, they said, reflected the Government’s keenness on building sustainable partnerships with the private sector, the driving engine of development.
